If you were sent to this website without your knowledge then your browser may have been hijacked.
Unfortunately there is a contemptible trend that is becoming more and more common wherein the browser
settings of web surfers are being hijacked forcibly by malicious web sites and software
which modifies your default start and search pages.
A web surfer may innocently visit what looks to be an interesting web page, when in
actuality it is really a hacker's lair. Unbeknownst to the visitor a small program or script
is automatically downloaded to their hard drive. It only takes a split second. The hacker
can now cause havoc on the surfer's machine.
In some cases they can take control of it.
Some signs that your computer may contain malicious code include:
- Your homepage keeps changing
- You notice an increase in popup ads
- Internet shortcuts will be added to your favorites folder without asking you
- Clicking on links send you to unintended websites
- Your PC is running extremely slow.
- Your PC starts up or shuts down extremely slow.
In some cases, these changes are reversible simply
by going into internet options and switching them back.
Not always, though. Sometimes it's necessary to manually edit the windows registry
to undo the changes made. Sometimes there is even a combination of registry setting
and files secretly placed on your hard drive that redoes your settings every
time you reboot the computer.
No matter how often you change your settings back, they are changed again the next time you restart.
There have even been cases where internet options have been removed from the tools
menu by registry hacking to prevent you from controlling your own computer!
If this is the case then you should take immediate action to cleanse your PC.
